A valid UK driving licence, proof of address and a debit or credit card in the hirer’s name. We will do a DVLA licence check. This can be completed via our booking system using your driving licence & NI number, or by providing a check code from the DVLA website View or share your driving licence information - GOV.UK
Our standard requirement is no more than 3 penalty points. In some cases, drivers with additional points may still be approved — please contact us to discuss your booking.
Drivers must be 25 years or older and have held a full UK driving licence for a minimum of 3 years.
When you book a 20% deposit is required by debit or credit card. We can take bookings and payments online and over the phone. Full payment required by handover.

The standard insurance excess is £1,500. Optional excess reduction is available at the time of booking, allowing you to lower your liability for added peace of mind. Excess can be reduced to £750 or £100.
The longer you hire, the better the value. Discounts are applied for bookings of 3-6 days and then a weekly rate is applied.
All bookings are reviewed before being confirmed. In office hours 8am-8pm Mon-Sun we aim to do this within the hour. You will receive a confirmation email shortly after.
Yes, additional drivers may be added for an extra cost subject to checks and approval.
We offer delivery and collection. Pricing is based on location and confirmed at booking. The Southend on sea area within 10 miles (driving distance) has no charge. Cars can also be collected.

Vehicle use is restricted to the UK mainland only unless authorised by Essex Vehicle Hire.
